First quarter wrap up
Now that I'm back in my humble abode, I felt the urge to do a (how you people eloquently put as) "the first chapter of the startofanewlifewhatever" wrap up.All I can say is, I'm ready to kick some ass and take some names winter quarter, because from my grade estimates... I might have pulled straight B's this quarter. I am utterly disappointed because two of my four classes could have been easy A's. Finals just always manages to screw me over. I hate when exam questions seem "so easy", and you become super confident...and then you get slapped with...say a D.
I definitely also woke up an hour late for my Stats final. 8am finals are so unholy. Any hour before 10am is just unholy. I don't even wake up that early for class. Okay soooo, I MIGHT have been up a little late watching some College Humor videos, specifically Jake and Amir, that night but my body usually knows when to wake up when I have something important the next day. Well, I learned my lesson and thank god my professor was awesome enough to still let me take it. Moral of the story is, don't let College Humor consume you. :)
Other than that, I'd say my first quarter treated me fairly well. Journalism has owned me here and there, to the point of where I no longer wanted to pursue it anymore. Art 109 was like humanities hopped up on steroids, minus the architecture, but way easier... if that makes any sense. I'm no good with analogies. Pysch. of Gender had interesting things on the table, but I felt many things that I learned was basic information that people already knew, that females probably didn't want reinforced in their heads. Males will always appear to be more dominant in careers, physical structure, politics, yadayadayada and basically anything else you can name. No need to further explain Stats. So glad I am done with math - FOREVER.
I didn't get any classes that I wanted next quarter but my schedule is still looking pretty sick. No classes Tuesdays and Thursdays and my day starts at 1! I just got blessed with the luxury of sleep.
Before I left Bham, I had a one on one with my RA and this is how it went:
"So are there some things that shocked you or surprised you since you've been here?"
"Uh......not everyone here are hippies."
"You should go to Fairhaven"
"Uh......not everyone here are hippies."
"You should go to Fairhaven"
Ain't that the freaking truth. Why am I not living in Fairhaven where everyone and everything is quite possibly ten times better (except the rooms, they're pretty haggard.) People at the Ridge needs to start taking the sticks out of their asses.
Other randoms:
I saw a preview for Season 5's Lost the other day and I am so omgz excited for it to start up again in January.
Mother believes that people will think I am Indian/Middle Eastern with my nose ring, not that there is anything wrong with that. Last time I checked, I am pretty 100% sure I look like neither of those descents. Racist ftw!
I bought the first of the Twilight series today, but I'm not going to read it until I finish Choke and Fight Club OR until I watch the movie first, that way I will be less disappointed. I went to Costco and this so called Twilight four pack is nonexistent. Someone is lying to me!
