Consciously conspicuous

I have noticed this in television and movies for far too long, and it's time that I actually address this conspicuous blunder which I'm sure the prop master is fully aware of. CHALKBOARDS IN SCHOOL SETTINGS. Chalkboards have been outdated since the early-mid 90's , yet they continue to exist in new age media. The media tries so hard to emulate genuine, present day settings and it's spot on for the most part from the contemporary linguistics, existence of iPhones/Blackberries, modern wardrobe, jaded portrayals of teenagers and so on. I often speculate that if a production is able to feature a modern slim aluminum 13 inch Macbook in the vignettes, it transcends far beyond the technological advancement of a chalkboard. The fact that they coexist is comparable to a movie centered around dinosaurs and cavemen, often impertinent. Hominids appeared long after dinosaurs, the same way modern technology appeared long after chalkboards. I've burrowed into this peeve of mine and reckoned that nearly everything in life should have a constant. From a shitty teen movie to an astounding feature, I can always rely on the outdated chalkboard to be there. While chalkboards remain a constant in new age media, my life is still in search for one of its own.
