I want my MTV
What happened to good old MTV? After many years that music television hasn't aired anything very much music - related, I'm finally speaking out.Over the past 3-5 years or so, TRL has quite possibly been the only show correlating with music -- pretty much the core of MTV. Now that it has come to an end, what are we left with?
Shitty shows such as A Shot for Love with Tila Tequila. As if that wasn't shitty enough, there is even A DOUBLE Shot for Love. Continuing the list are NEXT, The X Effect, Engaged and Underaged, Paris Hilton's My New BFF, and the newly coming Bromance. It's too painful to list the rest.
Dating shows and horrid "reality" shows are dominating a station of what was organicly music. At this rate, MTV will have to change it's acronym to BTV. Blow-hard television. Sure, there are still decent, bearable shows such as Made or America's Best Dance Crew, but that certainly does not vouch for the producers other half-baked ideas.
I want my Say What Karaoke back! Making the Video! Fanatic! Daria! Okay, so that's not happening, but please stop creating horrible TV shows and maybe start living up to your name a little.
I guess this rant was sparked when I found out that College Humor was starting it's own show on MTV. My love for College Humor has progressed through out the past few weeks, but I'm not sure how I feel about this. It's almost similar to how I felt when I started to enjoy Panic at the Disco and they instantaneously blew up in what seemed to be a week later. I think it should be left in its most pure form on the internet. Nothing can get more real than their hardly working videos. But hey, now that it's in the works, I can only expect great things since the CH staff never ceases to amaze me. MTV's street cred went up a little in my book. But I still hate you.
