I just got back from viewing the Hannah Montana movie, where I was anticipating the crazy antics of Rico, Jackson, and the occasional Oliver and Lily. I was ready for child-friendly slapstick humor established by Disney. But in retrospect, hardly any of this was achieved at all. Most of the main characters were notably absent from a good amount of the film. Because of this, there was a large margin for the idea of self-discovery within Miley's character by truly having to weigh the best of both worlds, the glamorous life associated with super stardom and the normalities of everyday life. If there is one thing I can take from this movie, it is the central idea that needs to constantly be reminded. Often times we value the idea of being Hannah, behind an enhanced version of ourselves, while continuing to play this role, that who we are slowly begins to dissipate. Hannah is only there to please the crowd, but it's Miley who got you there in the first place. Embrace the Miley and don't pretend to be the Hannah that you are not, because in the end, the constant interchangeability is unsettling and a beleaguer for yourself, family, and friends.
